What does Lifestyle Newborn Photography Mean?
Not to be confused with photojournalism or portrait photography, lifestyle photography features individuals and families with the intention to capture real-life events or milestones in an artistic way.
These lifestyle sessions are done in your home anywhere from one week postpartum up to four weeks. There really isn’t any hard and fast rules on this.
They aren’t exactly candid photos, but more like candid’s cousin-plandids! We plan some moments and I photograph them as they unfold.
There is no formal posing-just guidance. The style allows for capturing the beauty as it evolves..
What Type of Moments are Planned?
The moments are significant to you and your family. Maybe you have other little ones that interact with your new baby or grandparents perhaps, even pets! Maybe you want to bathe baby and want beautiful images of that. What happens when you and your partner are on the bed and your other little ones want to come join-that can be lots of fun.
These special moments can include breastfeeding, bathing, grandparents, siblings, walking in your garden, babywearing, and anything else you would like.
A Note About Milk Bathes
Milk Bathes are a pretty lengthy process, but the outcome completely makes it worth the effort if this is a look you like. We can absolutely do these in conjunction with a short lifestyle session. The bulk of your session will be the milk bath.
