What is Maternity Photography?
Maternity photography is a quiet pause in the midst of so much becoming. It’s a chance to slow down and honor the life growing within you, the strength of your body, and the deep connection forming long before your baby arrives. My Los Angeles maternity photography sessions are thoughtfully guided and focused on capturing anticipation, tenderness, and the beauty of this fleeting time. Maternity portraits are typically photographed between 32 and 34 weeks, when your belly is beautifully round and you still feel comfortable, allowing space for calm, heartfelt images that reflect how this chapter truly feels.
What to Wear for Maternity Portraits
You’re welcome to choose from my curated collection of dresses, bodysuits, and flowing wrap fabrics, all selected to photograph beautifully and flatter a growing belly. You’re also welcome to bring something of your own if it feels more like you. If you’d like to purchase a dress, I recommend exploring Silk Fairies, Mii Estilo, or Chicaboo. Hair and makeup
If you’d like to be fully taken care of on the day of your session, I can arrange professional hair and makeup with artists who specialize in photography-ready beauty. This is a gentle way to slow down, relax, and step into your session feeling confident and supported. Hair and makeup can take place in the comfort of your home or in the studio’s hair and makeup room before we begin. For Packages 1 and 2, hair and makeup are available as an add-on and are paid separately. If you’d like to include this service, just let me know ahead of time. You’re also welcome to arrive with your hair and makeup already done—whatever allows you to feel most at ease.
Partner and Other Children
Partners and children are always welcome and encouraged to be part of your maternity session. These moments often become some of the most meaningful—capturing connection, anticipation, and the love already surrounding your growing family.
Extra Images and Deposits
If you’d like more images than your selected collection includes, you can upgrade to the next collection before your session. Your final image count is based on the collection you choose. A 50% deposit is required to reserve your session, with the remaining balance due on the day of your photoshoot.
